Kinetic

Name: Kinetic. Also, Brian

Description: Strangely, though he is the main character, I have very little sense of his appearance. Perhaps that is because this story is about him defining his own identity. He is a muscular white male in his mid 20s. There is nothing particularly special about the way he dresses when he is in his street clothes. As Kinetic, he has a fairly simple superhero costume. I am picturing mostly dark colors….perhaps a two-tone look…. with bright piping separating the tones. The bright piping on the dark colors could be similar to the way his power looks when he is bouncing around the city.

He wears gauntlets that help him control his powers. They should go about half way up to his elbow. They are high tech, but not overly Kirby-esque or steam-punk or anything. There is more bulk to them than if they were just padded gloves, but not so much that they restrict his movement. His energy field glows, and so his gauntlets will have the same glow when they are in use. With gauntlets on, his power manifests in a very clear and coherent way, without them, the glow is much more diffuse and the area foggier.

The look of the gauntlets could be echoed in head gear, foot wear…a belt perhaps?

Personality: Kinetic knows that he has a calling in life. He feels deep in his should that he should be doing something. He has powers, and he feels compelled to use them. He wants to do what is right, and he wants to help people, but he is unsure how to begin. He has confidence in his abilities, but no certainty about the choices he makes.

Role: In these stories, Kinetic represents me. As I try to learn the best way to write superhero comic book, he tries to learn how to be a superhero. That metaphor is as loose or as tight as it needs to be to serve the story. As he is discovering this world, he is teh lens through which the reader is introduced to new story elements.
