Name: Annemarie
Description: She is young, hip, and good-looking. She could be considered a hipster, without being a parody of a hipster. Stylish, but not too stylish. She has whatever hairstyle currently fits this general appearance. Something that looks current, but requires little up-keep. She enjoys looking good, but has recently out-grown the ability or need to keep up with fashion.
Personality: She genuinely wants what is best for Kinetic. She has a general yearning in her life, but she has lost touch with what exactly it is for. Instead, she tries to get as close as she can to the trappings and feelings she associates with that yearning. She loves that Brian (Kinetic) has a goal and strives toward it. She likes the glamor excitement, and mystery of the “life’. She is selfless and strong and very supportive of Brian’s ambition. He has trouble expressing this ambition to her, so her understanding of it not completely accurate. This can leave them believing that they are pulling toward the same goal, when they are actually reaching in different directions. This is a source of frustration for both of them.
Role: In the story of Rapid City, Annemarie represents Kinetic’s personal life. A life ambition like being a superhero is going to tax all aspects of one’s personal life. But this is a superhero story, not a domestic drama. So, problems in every area of Kinetic’s personal life come out through his problems with Annemarie.
