"The 'Rapid City' Gang – Holidays" Process
So last month right before Christmas, Josh was in town. We were able to meet up and catch up on what was going on in our lives and go over a few MONOLITH things. One thing we discussed was doing specific images for the e-newsletter we send out and the home page on out site for different times of the year.
So the first one, done a little bit later than we wanted, but not necessarily specific to the holidays anyways, was this piece here. I figured I'd show you a little bit of the process involved in it.
First Sketch:

So this was my initial sketch. Josh's comment was Viper was too serious. Said he wanted him to "have more fun".
Second Sketch:

And here is my second sketch. I liked the initial concept from the first sketch. So as you can see I just added a few more characters and moved Red Lion to the front and Viper is now appearing like he is "having more fun". So onto the finished pencils.
Pencils:

Just my finished pencils of my second sketch with a few minor changes and additions.
Colors:

I'll be the first to admit I'm not much of a colorist. I know how the process works and I used to be not too bad at it. So this was kind of a relearning process for me. Over time I'll get it again.
So that's it. You'll be able to see a larger version of the final piece soon on the MONOLITH site and in our next e-newsletter that is coming out soon.
Enjoy.
