Rapid City #4 in hand!

Posted by on April 22nd, 2013 in Commentary

In all of the excitement, chaos, and confusion leading up to Boston Comic Con, and it ultimate cancellation, I forgot to mention something really important.

I got issue #4.

Comicazi!

Posted by on April 20th, 2013 in Appearances, Conventions, Signings

Just had a really great time at the Comicazi Mini-Con. It was a hell of a lot of fun.
Sold some books, talked to some people, but best of all just saw all the people determined to come out and have a good time.
It seems that people have been circulating from mini-con to mini-con. That was so cool!
Met Tamsin Silver.
Traded books with Neil Gibson, and Eric Hutchison. Talked to David Mack. And refused pop-corn from RaShawn.

All told, a lot of fun.
And, rumors are around that there might be more stuff tomorrow.

Alternate Cons in Boston

The Boston Comic Con has been postponed.
But, everyone here was real excited about it, and lots of folks have already come from far away. And, mostly, there’s no way those bad guys are going stop us from having fun.

The League of Ordinary Gentleman Podcast Afterparty is still going on.

Open Studio 3/23/2013 #5 cover

What is the Open Studio?

Kav has posted this sketch for the cover of Rapid City #5

I like it.
The line next to kinetic, is that just a guide for you, or are you seeing that on the actual page?
If on the page, I don’t think we need a divider like that between back and front.
Or, if we do, just to divide the fron t from the back, we could wrap a line pretty tightly around Kinetic. The way Walt Simonson would.
Also, the fight is looking pretty good, but I think it will be more dramatic if Max has his head rocked back a bit so that we can see the rage on his face… Or, if not rage then just cruelty and malice.

New Script

Posted by on March 19th, 2013 in Commentary

I just finished my script for this month.
It is in the Marvel Style, so I guess it isn’t really done until it goes off to the printer.

I realized, though that I had been over-writing it. I was going into too much detail when I didn’t need to.

Hopefully, Kav will like and be able to do lots of cool stuff with it.
If, and when, he does, I will be sure to post some of it here.

Open Studio 3/17/2013 Cover plotting

Posted by on March 17th, 2013 in Open Studio

Kav and I started planning out how to do the covers for the next 4-issue story arc.
This ones is much more plot driven and focused.
This is the cover diagram we came up with.

Make sense?

Make sense?

No. It probably doesn’t yet. But til you see how it comes together.
